Legal Counsel Mahmoud Al-Thamali reveals to “Weam” the penalty for famous social media clips: impris

Yesterday evening, a group of social media celebrities posted indecent videos on their Snapchat accounts that included semi-naked women and dancers in an immoral party and contrary to the teachings of the Islamic religion and social customs.

For his part, lawyer and legal advisor Mahmoud Al-Thamali explained to “Al-Wi’am” that the clips included many violations and crimes punishable by law, which varied between their violation of the system for combating information crimes, as well as the production of something that would prejudice public order, religious values, public morals, the sanctity of private life, or Preparing it, sending it or storing it through the information network.

Al-Thumali went on to say: Also, the circulating clip proves a violation of the precautionary and preventive measures taken by the concerned authorities to confront the Corona pandemic, and it may reach a penalty of a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand riyals for the inviter and financial fines not exceeding 10,000 riyals for the invitees.


It is worth noting that Al-Ekhbariya channel indicated that the competent authorities are working to control those who participated in and published on social media the clips that included indecent clips, as well as exceeding the number allowed by the Ministry of Interior to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.
