Lawyer and advisor Mahmoud Al-Thamali to “Al-Wi’am”: Documenting the divorce requires the consent
Updated: Sep 27

The Ministry of Justice published on its official page on the social networking site Twitter a few days ago the procedures for documenting the wife’s divorce from her husband through the Najis portal.
While many social media pioneers explained that a woman can divorce her husband with the press of a button, as they described it, and within a few minutes.
Lawyer and notary Mahmoud Adel Al-Thamali explained to Al-Wi’am that these procedures, when the spouses agree to divorce and the amount of compensation, the authentication request is submitted for that through the Najiz portal first, and then the authentication is approved by the notary public, according to the provisions of the executive regulations of the documentation system, issued by a decision of the Minister Justice, in order to shorten the time for litigation.
Whereas in the event the husband refuses khul’ or disagrees over the amount of compensation, litigation is necessary, and that is decided by a court ruling.
